Mollusc Fishery

Commercial mollusc fishing is allowed in intertidal waters from the high water mark out to the low water mark. Access may be restricted around some registered Aboriginal sacred sites and protected areas. Molluscs can only be caught by hand. When fishing under a mollusc license, shellfish can also be taken, but pearl oysters and cephalapods such as squid, octopus, cuttlefish and nautilus, cannot be caught.
